What girl ever didn’t?

A couple months ago I began looking into what it takes to be a real Disney princess. I could work at Disney and make little kid’s (and adult’s) dreams come true. It never occurred to me that I didn’t look like any of the princesses until I my research. The closest one is Jasmine and even then, Disney would prefer a white girl to play the part.

The first part of the audition for a face character is purely based on looks.

So I gave up the dream of being a princess and started looking around for roles to play (with Disney) that I could actually pass for, until The Princess and the Frog came out!

Now I finally have a Disney princess that I look like! Woot!!! For my next job, I want to find a birthday party group in the Atlanta area that needs a Princess Tiana. I mean, how cool would it be to get that opportunity?

I’m already practicing her accent… hehe

Anyway, I watched the movie yesterday and LOVE IT!!! 10 out of 10. I love, love, LOVE Disney Princess movies. My favorite of all time is Beauty and the Beast. My second favorite is Aladdin. I just love the innocence and romance and light humor  Disney puts in their movies.

In the Princess and the Frog, I liked how Tiana worked hard to get what she wanted, and I like how love was the important thing not money. I think that’s an important lesson for kids to learn, especially during these hard times, and it’s perfect for the holidays. Growing up in America we get very spoiled, and I’m pointing a finger at me!

The thing I didn’t like was: NOTHING!!!

Go see it and tell me if I’m wrong.

It was a blast.

I just love singing at places like this because the patients there really enjoyed our singing. You know how some places you go, people are just like “yeah, that was nice.” blah. blah. One of the men in a wheel chair told some of us that he had never heard such “wonderfully talented singers.” We really made a difference in these people’s lives. All we did was take time out of our schedule to sing some Christmas songs. Nothing too difficult. And we were the best singers they ever had?! Really?! I think that more people need to come touch these people’s lives so that we don’t have to be the best. Not saying we were terrible just saying there is way better singers out there.

And yet, we touched people’s lives. There was one lady who was in the front who was paralyzed on her whole body. She could barely move her head. For every song, she was singing along and bobbing her head and smiling at us. What a sight. If I had to only sing to her for the rest of my life, I would be completely happy. It’s people like her make me sing. Our last song was a powerful, up-lifting song of praise to God and we sang the heck out of it. She was sobbing.

Isn’t weird how someone who is paralyzed and can barely move their head is so thankful? I will never forget this woman and that man. Some people around me who have everything they can ask for and more are the most bitter people in the world! They have nothing to be bitter about! Life can’t get any better for them. The people at the Spinal Center were so happy we were there. They can’t walk! Wow.

It just blows my mind away. It makes me ever so great full. God has blessed me so much and he pointed that out to me at the Spinal Center. If someone who cannot use their legs can be thankful for a bunch of newbie singers singing Christmas songs, then how much more can I be thankful.

It’s a lot to think about.

My list of items wanted this year may seem daunting but I would like to remind you that I’ve been a very good girl this year and deserve all of these.

• Tickets to see the Nutcracker at the Fox Theater in Atlanta
• An all inclusive trip to New York
• A cute little kitten
• an engagement ring
• ankle boots

p.s. If you feel like giving me a bonus gift, that’s acceptable as well. I enjoy shopping, reading, and singing.

I know you guys missed me bunches! I missed you too!! I have lots of blogs and updates and info coming up!

But first! Just wanted to get everybody up to speed on what’s happening in my life.

I’m in the process moving closer to school and work and everything else so I will be even more busy. I’m actually moving out of my mom’s house for the first time, so it’s like a growing up moment. *tear*

I’m trying to get my singing career off the ground and have been auditioning to lots of stuff and not really getting anywhere. I’m taking singing lessons, acting classes, and dance classes so I’m trying at least. I know I can make it. I just need more experience and confidence in myself.

I’m transferring to another school so I have the pressures of getting all that freakin’ paper work done. It’s killing me, man! I mean, how hard would it to be to have everything like in one packet or something. Sheesh!

I’m transferring to another job that’s closer to where I will live and school. So I have to basically start all over again meeting people and proving myself.

Oh! And, exams are next week! yup.

Anyways, as you can see, I’m still super busy but you know what!? I missed you guys sooooo I’m going to squeeze some blog post out some time…. whenever I can!

My wonderful boyfriend’s computer broke and it’s kinda a big deal because he’s a graphic designer… so out of the kindness of my heart (and to get him to stop complaining) I lent him mine for awhile… no telling how long that’s going to be though.

Also, I need to focus on some singing stuff to get better. I have my audition for the GSU School of Music next Friday!!! I’m super excited… and super nervous! I’m working on the songs for that along with songs for the Christmas charity event and songs for the spring fundraiser for the Atlanta Triple Threat Theatre event.

So I’ve been super busy on top of working and going to school full time. I’m trying to get to the point where I can give you guys more of my time and make stuff better.

But no worries, I’ll be back shortly, hopefully. Just wanted to let you know that I’ll be MIA for a bit.

So I paid for parking for an hour not thinking I’d be parking their for very long.

Came back 4 hours later with these lovely orange boots on my car. I had to pay $50 to get them off.

Well actually, my wonderful boyfriend paid the ticket for me. Isn’t he nice?

Moral of the story: Pay for parking in Atlanta.
